My goal is to empower you, help you express and understand yourself better, and find creative coping strategies.
My approach to therapy is person-centered, meaning I take a non-judgmental, compassionate stance, and acknowledge your unique experience in order to help guide you to solutions that are organic and personal. I utilize techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution focused, existentialism, psychodynamic, and mindfulness practices. I am interactive, empathic, and often use humor as a tool. Every person’s personality, journey, and situation is unique, so I adapt my techniques to your individual needs.
My clients often seek counseling due to dissatisfaction in their relationships, identity, or current role in life. We work on understanding yourself, your emotions, and developing communication tactics to achieve greater happiness. Processing difficult life situations and traumas, including chronic illness, is often necessary to achieve acceptance, peace, meaning, and the ability to find a rewarding life right now.
I am passionate about supporting women, which led me to earn a Certificate of completion in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders from Postpartum Support International. I help women through the challenges that life transitions bring: motherhood, postpartum anxiety and depression, changing hormones, infertility, pregnancy.
I am certified in Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level 1 and enjoy helping distressed couples move toward a better future in their relationship. Relationships are not easy. Healthy communication and understanding are a huge part of creating harmony and intimacy with our partners. I also love working with couples seeking pre-marital counseling who want to feel confident in their future together.
My clinical background includes working with the cancer patient and caregiver population and their families at Cancer Support Community Redondo Beach (a cancer wellness center). I am here for you in processing the deep personal issues that result from highly stressful and traumatic situations. There, I also facilitate a teen group, helping teens process difficult times and changes in their families.
Prior to pursuing my master’s degree, I had a career in the film & television industry. My interest in the arts led me to pursue a certification in Social Emotional Arts through the UCLArts & Healing program. As a result, I often utilize creative, arts-based techniques in my counseling practices.
